Adopt a Family
Dear Members of the AOH and
LOAH,
THE MAIL VERSION OF THIS
ARE BEING MAILED OUT HOPEFULLY BY TUESDAY I AM HAVING A PROBLEM
OBTAINING UPDATED MAILING LISTS IF ANYONE HAS PLEASE EMAIL WITH IT
.
This year we have decided to do
the adopt a family program gift giving holiday gift giving we are
adopting six family’s from the Greater Danbury Area Woman’s Shelter
on Main Street . we have already started off this program with a
successful pub nite so lets continue this great spirit of giving and
lets keep it going !!
Now what we are asking everyone
this year to do is very simple. Enclosed in this letter is a family
(not everyone will get the same) that has asked for a few specific
needs and wants. We are asking everyone to pick
something from this list and to make life easier we will also be
accepting cash donations (Because I know how the men hate to shop).
Once you have decided what you are going to do all you have to do is
choose one of the following:
The Choices:
1. Gifts can be dropped off at
the hall every Friday night in the bin that will be located there.
2. If you cannot get to the hall
we can arrange for someone to pick up the items for you at a certain
time.
3. Cash Donations can be mailed
to the address listed below and we will do the shopping for you
All Gifts and Donations must be
received unwrapped and in our committees hands no later than
December 19th
Every week there will be an
email sent out updating everyone’s families so we do not duplicate
so much. We are also suggesting you buy something off the list as
well Remember that little stuff animal you see on sale at Kohl’s
for only 5 dollars is going to seem like a million dollar gift to
some child who thought they were getting nothing for Christmas at
all . So let’s try to help out these families this year as much as
we can.
If anyone has any questions or
suggestions with this please feel to call me or one of the other
committee members as well
Thank you so much for your
support,
Sincerely,
Kristine Mallin –Chairperson
All gifts and donations can be
mailed to 1108 LEXINGTON BLVD , BETHEL,CT 06801 Attn: Kristine
Mallin or I can be reached at 203-482-2390
Here are all the things that were wished from the six
families that we have adopted as you can see there is not a lot that
was asked for on this list. So we are suggesting you can also buy
other things as well. Anything to make these families Christmas a
little bit better Brighter. As you will see most mothers asked for
nothing but we can donate for them as well. We can
also donate food baskets as well .
Please let donors know that these are suggestions,
not "must buy". The sizes are included in the event that someone
would like to purchase clothing. Shoe sizes are provided for items
such as socks or slippers. Thank you so much for joining us in
empowering the families we serve.
